My start menu is locked in Windows 11. How do I fix that?

If your start menu is locked in Windows 11, you can try the following steps to unlock it:

1. Right-click on the taskbar: Right-click on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen and select "Taskbar settings" from the context menu.

2. Click on "Personalization": In the Taskbar settings window, click on "Personalization" in the left-hand pane.

3. Click on "Start": In the Personalization window, click on "Start" in the left-hand pane.

4. Turn off "Use small taskbar buttons": Scroll down to the "Taskbar behaviors" section and toggle off the "Use small taskbar buttons" option.

5. Restart Windows Explorer: Press "Ctrl + Shift + Esc" to open the Task Manager, and then find "Windows Explorer" under the "Processes" tab. Right-click on "Windows Explorer" and select "Restart" from the context menu.

After restarting Windows Explorer, check if the start menu is unlocked. If the issue persists, you can try the following additional troubleshooting steps:

1. Check for Windows updates: Make sure your Windows 11 installation is up to date by checking for updates in the Settings app.

2. Reset the Start menu: In the Taskbar settings window, click on "Advanced options" under the "Start" section, and then click on "Reset" to reset the start menu to its default settings.

3. Create a new user account: If the above steps do not work, you can try creating a new user account and checking if the start menu works properly in the new account. If it does, you may need to troubleshoot your original user account further.
